Our dog is old and deaf…she’s 13 to be exact and can’t hear a darn thing. For some reason, she has also become particular about eating her breakfast early. So I awoke this morning at 4:15am to find her barking at the top of our lungs (I think because she can’t hear herself) until I came down to feed her. After that, I had every intention of getting my running shoes on but for some reason our recliner with a cup of coffee and a book seemed more inviting (I’m sure you can relate!). Our kids decided to venture downstairs at 6am and it was game on. We spent our morning doing overdue yard work…trimming bushes and pulling weeds while we also battled kids stuffing their mouths with four pieces of bubble gum and screaming about a huge swarm of wasps! Oh! and trying to keep the branch cutters from landing in the hands of our 3 year old…seriously they are fast little people! We fed them a glamorous lunch of noodles, a slice of turkey and a few bell peppers (meal of champions I know!). Down for naps and all is quiet. I finally have time to brainstorm about my business. I find myself listening to a YouTube show on podcasting in 2x the normal speed just to make sure I get through it before kids wake. I finally find a pen (although I was tempted to use the crayons I found first), and I jotted down notes on my 5 year old daughter’s coloring journal. Afternoon came and went at the library, playing outside, dinner and a bowl of ice cream (wow, I promise I’m a doctor but our food choices today were not great!) I am currently writing this at 9pm on my Saturday night, and I have to believe this day sounds familiar to you? How can any more fit in our day? Are you hesitating to start a business, or hang out with friends or run that half marathon or create a date night with your spouse or pursue something great because your days are like mine and are pure chaos? I want you to know you’re not alone. I feel your doubt! I am an MD who said no to my career to be with my kids and pursue a different way of health care. I am a mom and spouse who has too much in her day…I am YOU! But please know, we can still do great things!
Want to do great things with your health? We can do it together! Please contact me for an appointment…I would love to help you pursue health. Become resilient, ever growing…MINT.
